Inclement Weather

Playworks follows Arlington County Schools for weather decisions.  Check the apsva.us website for information about Monday and Tuesday (January 26th and 27th).

With upcoming snow days, we are offering virtual occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy sessions as an option to help maintain consistency and routine for children who benefit from ongoing support.

For many kids, keeping a familiar routine, even virtually, can be very helpful. Virtual sessions also allow us to:

• See your child’s home setup

• Address self-care skills and daily routines as they naturally occur at home

• Provide activities that can be easily carried over into everyday life

• Demonstrate strategies to improve language use at home

 

What’s needed for virtual therapy:

• A parent, guardian, or responsible person available to assist your child as needed with setup, activities, or technology

• A device with internet access

• Sessions will be held via our Playworks Google Meet, or company Zoom, which is HIPAA-compliant and secure. A link will be sent prior to the session as well as any materials or supplies needed.

 

If you’re interested in scheduling a virtual OT, PT or Speech and Language session, please let your therapist know and we can plan a time that works best for you on Monday or Tuesday.

If virtual therapy does not work for your family, please reach out as well, I may have options for rescheduling.
